Achieved by Counter Current Mechanism between Loop of Henle and Vasa Recta; NaCl and Urea maintain a concentration gradient in the medullary interstitium; Multiplies osmolarity from 300 mOsmol/L (cortex) to 1200 mOsmol/L (inner medulla), allowing passive reabsorption of water to form concentrated urine.
