Factors of Enzymatic Activity

Temperature & pH: Work best at narrow 'optimum' range. High temp denatures the enzyme; low temp makes it temporarily inactive; Substrate Concentration: Rate increases until it reaches $V_{max}$ (saturation); Competitive Inhibition: Inhibitor closely resembles the substrate and competes for the active site (e.g., Malonate inhibiting succinate dehydrogenase).
