Gene Therapy - ADA deficiency

First clinical gene therapy given in 1990 to a 4-year-old girl with ADA deficiency; Lymphocytes extracted, functional ADA cDNA introduced using a retroviral vector, and cells returned to the patient (Requires periodic infusions unless done at embryonic stage).
